Rules

Rules are subject to updates and adjustments as needed.
  1. Do Not Kill Steal (KS) - Most servers have this rule, it's pretty basic.
MVPs are free-for-all and thus are not subject. However, if the mob/MVP is summoned by the player (Abracadabra or by a Branch), then it is still KSing.
Penalty - 1-3 days jail time.
  2. Do Not Harass Players/Staff - Again, another common rule.
This includes, but not limited to, name calling, trash talking, racial slurs, and the like.
PvP is not lawless, but we expect some of these things in there. That doesn't mean this rule is void in PvP, that just means players shouldn't get butthurt just because someone called them a loser or something when they get killed. PvP is not a serious place; do not take it as such.
Penalty - Depends on the severity; 3-7 days jail time, or even a temporary ban.
  3. Do Not Hit on GMs - This is mostly just annoying; we do not want.
Penalty - Muting; at the GM's discretion.
  4. Do Not Beg - Especially the staff, for items, events, zeny, or anything else.
If you ask a player for something and they refuse, do not keep asking them. This also vaguely falls under harassment.
Penalty - Muting; from 3-10 minutes or longer if you persist.
  5. Do Not Spam/Flood the Chat - One of the most annoying things someone can do.
Should be pretty obvious what falls under this: repeating the same thing over and over, or filling the chat with nonsense.
Penalty - Muting; 10 minutes or longer if you persist.
  6. Do Not Impersonate Staff - This includes having a name containing "Aesir" or one of the staff's names.
This rule also loosely covers attempting to copy a GM's look.
Penalty - For names: character deletion or you will be banned. You will be given time to remove any items and zeny from the character first. For looks: required to change your look or we will do it for you.
  7. Absolutely No Botting - "Botting" is using a program to do anything for you. From hunting/gathering to using macros.
Don't be a lazy ass, do things for yourself. It's not hard to hunt anything here.
Mirai (AI editing program) is allowed. Homunculi and Mercenaries are part of the game, and in no way come near to what botting does. Saying they're the same as botting will not fly.
    Penalty - Permanent banning. Period.
  8. Do Not Spam Skills in Town - This should also be obvious: do not cast spells over and over again in town. Buffs are fine, but if you don't need to constantly buff yourself.
Seeing a mob in town does not give you the OK to go cast crazy. Once it's dead, just stop. Also, if you're going to duel in town, take it away from the center.
Penalty - First a warning, then you will be muted for 10 minutes. If you keep it up, you will be jailed for up to 3 days.
  9. No Excessive Swearing - We don't have a chat filter because I find it annoying, but people swearing just for funzies is even more so.
Each GM can decide on their own what "excessive" is. If players complain about it, then it instantly becomes excessive.
Penalty - Muting; at the discretion of the GM.
  10. No Advertising - Includes other servers, dead or not, and anything from a website to Dr. Flimflam's Miracle Cream.
This includes anything mentioned in chat, the forums, party names, and guild names. Remember folks: I don't need you to break up a party or guild.
Penalty - Depending on the type of advertisements, usually muting for at least 10 minutes, or jailing for 3 days. If it's on the forums, the post will be deleted and your account put on Mod queue.
  11. PvP is NOT Lawless - Just because we're more lax about some rules in PvP does not mean that we don't punish.
There is, and never will be, a rule about teaming. Teaming is the hardest thing to police in PvP, and even though there's no rule on it, it's still looked down upon. We will break it up if we know who's behind it.
Penalty - At the very least you will be nuked for rule breaking in PvP. You may also be muted, jailed, or banned depending on the crime.
  12. English Server Means SPEAK ENGLISH - Don't care if English is not your first language, you need to speak it in public chats.
You can speak whatever you want in PM, guild chat, party chat, another town, wherever, but in public you need to speak English.
Penalty - If you are asked to speak in English by a GM and refuse, you will be jailed for 1-3 days.
  13. No Hacking - Probably the only rule that's also against the law.
All your information is available to me if I chose to look it up, so I can, and will, report you to the authorities.
    Penalty - IP ban; prosecution.
  14. Do Not Block NPCs With Venders/Chat Rooms - If you're going to open a shop or a chat room, do it out of the way.
You're just being an ass if you open a shop or chat in front of an NPC.
Penalty - First, we will either move your character out of the way or kick your character from the server. Failing that, you will be jailed for 1-3 days if this continues.
  15. No Abusing Autotrade - There is no reason to be alive if you are autotrading.
People using autotrade outside of towns will be nuked (or just killed via @killer, @kill, homoculi, mob spawns, or any sadistic whim of the Aesir). People who are obviously autotrading to hunt or level will be jailed.
Penalty - Nuke minimum; jail for blatant offenders
  16. Minor Rules
    1. Do Not Argue with a GM
First, don't argue with us just to make a scene or simply for the sake of arguing. If you think there is a problem with a GM, post it on the forums instead of arguing about it.
    2. Do Not Purposefully Anger or Annoy Anyone
If you're asked to stop doing something annoying, just do it. There's no reason to be an ass.
    3. Do Not Ask to be a GM
Staff decides on who will be a GM, not you.
    4. Do Not Ask for Events
We will decide when to start an event that is not automated, and hell, we can even decide when to start those.
    5. Do Not Ask Why Another Player Was Punished
A player's punishment is between the staff and that player. The reason will only be given if the staff decides to give it.
    6. Do Not Beg to be Unjailed/Unbanned
If you're punishment period is over, just ask to be released if you already aren't. Otherwise at most you can ask why you were punished, but not about release.
